Nintendo Rolls Out New DS
Nintendo rolled out an upgraded version of its bestselling mobile game device, the DS, at a press conference in Tokyo last night.
The new device, called the DSi, comes with a digital camera built in and an SD memory slot that can be used to take advantage of the device's expanded multimedia features, such as MP3 song file playback. The device's predecessors featured wireless connectivity for head-to-head gaming, but this version also comes with a built-in Web browser. The device, which is a bit slimmer than its predecessors, also features slightly larger screens.
The DSi is scheduled for a release in Japan next month -- the rest of the world can expect to see the new device on sale next year.
