An addition: The reporter who didn't update the story (it had been held for months), was just pushed out, this memo from the newspaper's editor says (see second to last paragraph).

Ms. Sullivan: A question regarding the posting of obituary notices. For the past five years or so that I have read the Wash Post obit page, there were anywhere from 1-10 full obit write-ups and 1-6 pages of paid obit notices. In the last several months, I have noticed that the "paid notices" rarely exceed one page and the full write-ups are substantially down also. This happened in the Balt. Sun and there was a notice that a price increase may have resulted in a decrease of the "paid notices" on the web site. Has this been the case with the Wash Post. I retired to Asheville,NC in 2000 and read the obit page daily. Would appreciate your comments. LLMD@Charter.net Thank you for your time and consideration.
