To the Family of Nikki, my prayers are with you and your family. To her parents I am praying for you as you provide extended love, patience and support as you raise Nikki's beautiful children. To the father of the children my prayers are with you as well as you also need support during this time. I am a Wilberforce ALum and I live in the area. Wilberforce is a family and family sticks together. Again my prayers are with you and your family.

I did not know Nikki but for some reason her story stuck out the most to me. Maybe because she was the baby out of all the victims. Seems like you were just finding your way in life and in an instant you were taken from your family and children. My prayers go out to you and your loved ones especially your babies. And I pray your Mom's strength. God bless you Nikki and rest in peace.

This story really stuck out to me because Nikki was so very young, and sounds like she was pretty together--23 and about to embark on entrepreneurship. She sounds like a strong person who had a lot of love and support from her family, and especially from her Mom. My heart and prayers go out to all of you left behind to deal with such paralyzing grief. Please be strong for her sons, and pour all of that love into them. She will be an angel watching over all of you. I'm very sorry for your loss.

A daughter with so much promises; a Mom with her eyes on a positive life for her and her sweet babies. I am a Mom and Grandmother and cannot imagine how to get through this type of loss without the support of God, family and friends. I pray that "the village" will surround her Mom, children and other family members with as much love, care and protection as they will need for the days, weeks and years ahead. We are all praying for you and care about your loss.

There is no greater bond than that of a mother and her daughter. To the Mother Nikki: I pray for your heart. I lost my daughter a year ago and I can feel most of your pain. I pray God holds you in his arms and comforts you. You were a wonderful mother and it can be shown by the smile, dreams and plans Nikki had.

Nikki, Was one of my very dear friends. I loved her like a sister so this came to me like a ton of bricks. I'm gioing to miss her sooo much and her positive spirit. No matter how terrible a situation may have looked she showed a light, her smiledd cured all darkness in any avenue. I love you so much Nikki, you were the best friend anyone could ever have. When we started college together who knew our friendship would blossom as it did. I'm praying for the family and especially Andre and Emanuel, as long as I'm here they will know there mother and the light she shined! It's hard to end this because then this means this is real.... I love you!

I graduated from Largo High School with Nikki in 2003. Though we were not close it truly saddens my heart for a family to have lost such a beautiful young person in such a senseless and tragic accident. My most heartfelt prayers go out to Nikki's sister, children and other family members.

I just wanted to send my condolences to Ms. King's family and friends. I did not know Nikki but, looking at her picture, I felt I needed to say something. She is now with the King of all Kings. May she forever be an angel to watch over her beautiful children, family and friends. May God give each and every one of you strength through this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

To Nikii's babies and her family easier said than done and having walk through the shoes you are wearing only God can answer why,or what if she, or couldn't she have missed this train. Life is controlled by God. On a daily basis kiss your love one, say "I love you and God take care". I am an alumni of Wilberforce but I didn't know your precious love one. My prayers are with you.

Hello All. Nikki, may you rest in peace in the arms of Our Lord Jesus Christ. You must have been an exceptional lady, a young, 23 year old single, black mother with her own business in DC! You excelled thru tremendous odds and I say to you, LaVonda Nikki King: Well done, well done. May God bless us all. Peace.

Psalm 23:4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.

To the King family:

I did not know Nikki personally, but after reading the other blogs, I had to offer my heart felt condolences. I am also a professional hair stylist. I am sorry that she did not get the opportunity to fulfill her dreams because her life was cut short due to such tragedy. I have family members in the DC area. My sympathy goes out to the King family and all that have been touched by this tragedy! Some day, may her fond memories bring you comfort.

To Nikki's mom-I didn't know your daughter. However my daughter did-they graduated Largo together in 2003. You have may deepest sympathy. My daughter (Brittain) said she was always upbeat. She use to tease her that there were not a lot like her meaning her unique name "LaVonda".

Dear King/Brown Family,

We were truly saddened to hear that Nikki’s life ended in such a tragic way. I know words cannot express all of our feelings, but must keep in mind that God picked a precious flower for His garden. Sometimes you may ask how and why, but answers are often left unspoken. Sometimes I guess the answers lies beneath still waters and will be revealed in time. I believe that God has a master plan...we just have to trust & believe and get Our House in order. Life is precious, yet priceless, so treasure each moment.

We are neighbors of Tawanda Brown (LaVonda’s {Nikki} Mother). We, as well as the other neighbor’s, have watched Nikki grow from a young lady, into a woman then became a caring mother. Nikki, your spirit, your smile, your grace, and just “you” will truly be missed in more ways than one! Andre and Emanuel, your Mother’s spirit will forever live in you.

Our heartfelt sympathy and prayers are with you all today & always. Remember to keep each other close and be as one. We’re here if/whenever you need us.

I went to high school with nikki and when i heard this on the radio, all i did was cry. Though we were not close friends i do remember her very vividly and i must admit everytime i saw her she was either laughing or smiling.

To the family & frinds I know that right now its difficult to understand esp when there was so much ahead of her. But please remember when she went she was happy with life & she accomplished things that most dont get the chance to do! motherhood & her own business. I cant imagine the way you all feel but my heart goes out to you all and I have been praying for you all since I found out. Just know God called her home because her mission was complete so please complete your missions so you can be with her again.

RIP Nikki!

I did not personally know Nikki but I know someone who did. She is so heartbroken that her best friend is no longer here. I offer my condolences to the King family. Stay empowered by God because he will give you the strenghth you need to get through this. He walks with every step you take and holds you when you can no longer take the steps. Nikki is in God's hands now because She was God's child. Stay in prayer.

It Really shocked me when I turned on the news and saw LaVonda "Nikki" King picture on there as one of the victims in the Metro train crash.
LaVonda was a true Sweetheart. She always tried to make people feel comfortable around her no matter if it was her first time seeing you.
I'll, along with many others that knew Nikki will truly miss her. But I'll remember her as one of the three LADIES that made my trainning class for SunTrust Bank enjoyable. Thats where I can say I met a friend.
My prayers go out to LaVonda's family and friends and everyone that was touched by this tragedy ....
Now there's a new angel in the sky watching over us...

To Lavonda,

I did not kow you, but the tradegy touched my heart so much. Especially yours because you were so young and just starting your life. And not just starting it, but starting it right. Believe it or not you are in a better place. It's just misfortunate that your little ones did not get to enjoy their "mommy" long enough. But I am sure they will be taken care of to the fullest. I will keep your family in my prayers everyday, R.I.P.

With Sympathy,
