Daily Goodbye

How's this for your big break as an actress? You appear in one of the most celebrated films of all time and during your short appearance on screen you are held in the arms of Clark Gable.

This was Phyllis Douglas' introduction to Hollywood at age 2. She went on to some small roles in the Batman and Star Trek TV shows before becoming a California real estate agent known as Phyllis Hodges Boyce . She died on May 12.

Sad news in the equestrian world. British Olympic show jumper Tim Grubb has died at 55. He was a silver medalist at the 1984 Los Angeles games. He later became an American citizen and had won many of the sport's biggest grand prix events, where rider and horse go around a timed course and must clear tall jumps without knocking a rail down.
