Daily Goodbye

As a young actor, Corey Allen, 75, was best known for playing the doomed high school gang leader who challenges James Dean to a "chicken run" in "Rebel Without a Cause."

In the early 1960s, Ken Brown, a guitarist from Liverpool, was in a band called The Quarrymen with three other no-namers: George Harrison, John Lennon, and Paul McCartney.

Brown had a falling out with his band mates, who needless to say went on to larger fame as a band with a different name: The Beatles.

Joseph Messerli was a cartoonist who worked on a number of different funnies, including Dennis The Menace, Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Yosemite Sam, Daffy Duck, Woody the Woodpecker, the Flintstones, and the Pink Panther.
