Rapper: "da rumor dat I was dead" Is False.

The Game, a west coast hip hop artist and protege of gangster rap mogul 50 Cent, is not dead from a bullet to the head.

The website reported this morning the rapper had been involved in a shooting at the "Beverly Center Mall late last night, and later died at Cedars Sinai Medical Center."

In fact, The Game is in Sacramento promoting his new album, R.E.D.

He said on his twitter page that he would be celebrating his death at a club in California and that he'd be "bringn all da zombies from thriller & I dug up Rick James b!tch ! Being dead is da best."

The rapper's lighthearted take on the rumor of his demise is far different than some other celebrities who have suffered the same fate.

Last year, actor Jeff Goldblum was reported to have died after he fell off a cliff in New Zealand.

Except, Goldblum pointed out in this story, he'd never even been to New Zealand.

Russell Crowe, of "Proof of Life" fame, had to issue a statement proving he was alive after internet rumors recently said that he too had fallen off a cliff, this time in Austria.

The Game put the story to rest on his twitter page with this missive about his new album, and its upcoming debut: "My funeral is 8-24-10 @ da nearest Best Buy. The obituary is $9.99 located da front of da store. The repass is @ Walmart n the music section."
