Last word on Steinbrenner

For some strange technical reasons, the complete version of our George Steinbrenner obituary did not appear online until now. It appeared only in the newspaper, which might lead some to conclude that sometimes the older technology is the superior technology.

By the way, I received an indignant phone call from one reader demanding that The Post run a correction -- or at least a documented source -- for my statement that the New York Yankees are the most hated team in sports. For a moment, I considered publishing the guy's phone number and inviting people to discuss the matter with him. (Well, no, we would never actually do that.) But I did do a database search of articles containing the words "New York Yankees" and "most hated." No fewer than 749 stories came up.
