T. Rees Shapiro
T. Rees Shapiro is an English graduate of Virginia Tech. He got his start in journalism as a reporter for the school newspaper covering the April 16, 2007 shootings on campus.
A native of Middleburg, Va., he is an alumnus of Woodberry Forest School.
In his spare time, he bikepipes and reads John Irving. ("...In the world according to Garp, we are all terminal cases.")
Among his favorite places to visit in Washington are the National Zoo, Arlington National Cemetery, and the National Portrait Gallery, because, like obituaries, the artworks hanging there convey the essence of a person.
