Any Democrats Left in Washington?

To those Democratic National Committee workers stuck here in the nation’s capital, Denver is to Washington what the playing field is to the locker room. Or so it would seem.

The action appears to be out West. Since I’m also in D.C., it seemed only fitting to find out what the folks who didn’t make the cut are up to.

My first call to DNC headquarters reached a volunteer in the press office who was answering phones because all the paid flaks were at the convention. He referred me to one, whom I reached in Denver on the second try, and he in turn put me in touch with DNC spokesman Brad Woodhouse.

I had it all wrong.

True, most of the DNC finance staff is at the convention. “We have a fairly robust fundraising operation going on out here, as you can imagine,” Woodhouse said. But a large team is in Washington conducting opposition research, he said, and another group of DNC staffers is tracking John McCain’s campaign appearances as part of a “truth squad.”

“The Republicans have a war room out here in Denver,” Woodhouse said, “so we’re in Washington putting together a war room for their convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul that will be bigger and better than theirs,” he declared.

There’s action close to home after all.

Washington is a Democrat city which is proved by the voting records of DC & the surrounding counties in MD & VA. This is why War hero Republican Red Cunningham is in jail for accepting a bribe & Democrat "Cold Cash" Jefferson is still in Congress. The Democrat Party CORRUPTS everything that it controls which is normal for MARXISTS.

No action here in SW show-me. I called the local office asking for Obama/Biden signs and was told they don't have any and the people who know when they will arrive were not in.

It does tick me off a little (Ok, a lot) that the convention media seem to have forgotten that the greatest percentage of those vital blue-collar voters aren't at the convention protesting. Think about it. How could they be? Most folks who are working just to get by don't have the time, the money, and most probably not the inclination to go traipsing off to Denver to scream about Hillary or boost Obama. Ordinary folks have to work. School is starting a lot of places, too.

So--while you have my sympathy, I must say we need you right where you are, blogging a viewpoint that combines your Washington savvy and journalistic expertise with the filtered view the rest of us are getting.
All that glitters is not gold, and what doesn't is not necessarily lead, either.
