Move Over, Joe the Plumber

Here's a relatively safe prediction: We'll switch from talking about Joe the Plumber (that's Mr. Wurzelbacher, to you!) to Barack the Bank the moment the Obama campaign reveals just how much it raised in September. With the official reporting deadline on Oct. 20, the figure is due to leak any day. And if what three sources have whispered to me is true, the senator from Illinois very well may announce that his supporters handed him more than $100 million last month.

That'll explain how Obama is able to afford a 30-minute television ad buy on multiple broadcast networks and cable outfits set for Oct. 29. There's so much cash sloshing around his Chicago headquarters, the Associated Press reported on Oct. 9 that Obama is on the road to spending more than $90 million on ads through Election Day, "more than all the money Republican rival John McCain has to spend on his entire fall campaign." And that'll explain how he has enough money to keep the blue states blue and to make a serious run in such Republican strongholds as Virginia, Indiana and New Hampshire.

Earlier today I asked Obama's national press secretary, Bill Burton, via e-mail, "When are you guys going to release/leak that giant goose egg you're sitting on?" He wrote back: "The folks who know the number are not talking - it's all speculation. I dont even know it." We'll all know it -- any day now. And Mr. Wurzelbacher's 15 minutes of fame will come to a merciful end.

Wow, pretty soon, "Big Media" will be declaring Obama's "Insurmountable Lead" again (while, let's face it, I think most of America knows that, the REAL truth of the matter is that, the two candidates are in a statistical dead-heat), just like they did during the primaries with Clinton. LOL...Big Business wants him in baddd...while still maintaining their interest in the American Public, as if he's a social experiment. LOL

Count the number of donors and see it number more than 4 million donations. He has spent more on his ground game than 90 million across the whole campaign and that combined with TV has McCain fighting in previously Republican states. The reneging on public money is a distinct advantage that Obama took. I like that in a president and remember Bush41 did it on an international scale in Desert Storm. A good push into Texas with a positive Latino worker program would put that big enchelda at risk. A state that large is not being campaigned in. This says what is wrong with the electoral colleges all or nothing approach. It also gives small states more leverage in selecting the president than they otherwise would under the popular vote.

"Wurzelbacher conceded today that he is not in danger of being hit with the higher tax rate. He acknowledged that he wants to buy a plumbing company for $250,000 to $280,000. That wouldn't be how much profit he would make from the firm.

He would make much less, he said.

That would seem to indicate that Wurzelbacher would not be subject to Obama's proposed tax increase from 36 percent to 39 percent for those making more than $250,000 per family. Instead, he would be eligible for a tax cut that Obama is proposing.

Nevertheless, the plumber said people shouldn't be 'punished' for success even if you become a billionaire."

People are voting with their wallets - and thast even when the economy is in a downturn/mekltdown - this indicates People want a change of Government...and they want a change in styke as well... Mc Cain and Neocons have run thier campaign as per usual and its not working.

Big Business hasnt been throwing money at Obama any more than Mc Cain - but the tide there may even be turning - as they know one thing is required - to change the fear and paranoia which was the staple diet of the Bush republicans - it has become so entrneched it has fueled the economic problems even more...this physcology needs to change and it wont change with Mc Cain (Gramm they are whingers and the negative and we are fundamentally sound line a few months back( back in with the same clowns as advisers...but people are voting large with there money as they are also scared that the neocon republicans will again rip off a election result and the country keeps going down Joe the plumbers S bend...

I am over 50. This is the first time I have ever donated to a political campaign. I have donated as generously as I can to Obama. I suspect I am not alone.

I would have voted for McCain in 2000. But he has not convinced me that the neocons who drove us into the ground won't still be in charge under his watch. Rove, Wolfowitz, Cheney, Feith, Bolton, and the rest of their little gang. He's no longer on his game, and after mocking women's well being, there's no going back.

If you look at the price of a vote today you can see that it's only for the rich. We are priced right out of our own political process. I expect taxes to just keep going up on the people at the bottom as the people in the middle are squeezed there will be more people going to the bottom. A few guys at the top are running the country. They have billions of dollars. It's a great country with a rotten political system. It seems to be getting more rotten and as always business is good. You just need more business and it gets better. All the capital in the world for politics and all the capital for business is tight. People are killing their families and themselves. The times are difficult and nobody is giving me a break. In fact they are giving me the business. Free business and then there is monkey business. In God We Trust.

Black Catholic Bishop Holley: Abortion Exploits African-American Community
One of the top black Catholic leaders in the nation issued a call for the African-American community to do more to reject abortion. Bishop Martin D. Holley, Auxiliary Bishop of Washington, says a new report underscores the racist nature of abortion and how it preys on black Americans.
Bishop Holley issued a statement LifeNews.com received responding to a report by the Guttmacher Institute, named after a former Planned Parenthood president, showing black women have abortions at five times the rate of white women.
“As an African American, I am saddened by evidence that Black women continue to be targeted by the abortion industry," the bishop said. "The loss of any child from abortion is a tragedy, but we must ask: Why are minority children being aborted at such disproportionate rates?”
“Our legitimate commitment to other social concerns must not push the primary moral issue of abortion onto the back burner. It clearly must be at the heart and center of our discussion of the survival of African American people,” Bishop Holley said.
The report, released in September, found that, although abortion rates have declined among all racial and ethnic groups, large disparities persist with Hispanic and black women obtaining abortions at rates three and five times higher, respectively, than non-Hispanic white women.
Between 1994 and 2004, the abortion rate for Hispanic women fell by 20% and there was a 30% decline among non-Hispanic white women. But black women saw the lowest decline -- at 15 percent during the same time period.
Black women account for 37% of abortions, white women for 34%, Hispanic women 22% and women of other races 8%.
Holley serves as chairman of the Sub-Committee on African American Affairs at the States Conference of Catholic Bishops and is a member of the Committee on Pro-Life Activities.
In comments provided to LifeNews.com, Bishop Holley also called for the federal defunding of the abortion industry.
“Every year the federal government gives over $300 million to Planned Parenthood. Last year for the first time, Planned Parenthood took in over one billion dollars and reported a profit of $51 million,” he said of the supposed non-profit organization.
The Bishop called upon African Americans to “defend our community by rededicating ourselves to family life and marriage, promoting the gift of chastity and marital fidelity, committing ourselves to prayer and service to others and defending the life and dignity of each human person."
"We can welcome every child as a gift and we can overcome abortion," he said.

Senator Obama's unmatched ability to reach the masses and motivate them to personally invest in what will go down in history as the most outreaching, inclusive movement for change in political history is nothing short of amazing. The final example of this marvel will be when he turns out the same numbers in votes as he has gathered in contributions. I have been on the ground and watched first hand the organization, commitment and unrelenting effort that his "foot soldiers" are putting forth in every state in this country. Anyone who believes for a second that these young, old, black, white, brown, educated, less educated, rich, poor and in the middle American's won't show up to vote is badly mistaking. These Obama voters are like race horses in a starting gate and they will not be denied this election. We are about to witness something special in history and it is just what this country needs in times like these. When as a country we are all wondering whether we can overcome our troubles, we will now have a President who's entire life as been focused on YES WE CAN.

It would appear that Joe the Plumber was investigated by the McCain incompetents at the same level as Sarah "Mooselini" Palin.

And now McCain looks incredibly foolish having made the centerpiece of the third debate someone whose name isn't Joe, who isn't a plumber, and who is in absolutely no danger of breaking Obama's $250,000 threshold for higher taxes.

We've suffered from the foolish missteps of one band of nitwits, halfwits and incompetents for the last seven-and-three-quarter years. Heaven save us from more of the same.

But our beloved country needs us now, and we , the people are answering the call. I contribute what I can which is not a heck of alot, but there are many of us. It all adds up. Mr. Obama said once that that which brings us together is greater than that which divides us. Maybe, just maybe that is true. God bless America. She can be saved.

Well, today was an interesting discovery when I learned Joe the Plumber was a plant by the McCain camp. This is getting childish, nevertheless it is important to realize all voters.......the deception and the masquerade of the Republican Party. If they can't steal the election, they will do everything to put ordinary joe's and jane's in your face for a 'she/he s like me vote, as they did with Palin.

Also, with so many of the Golden Parachute, lobbyist gold from Wall street crash belonging to the McCain camp (no coincidence)why has Rick Renzi's name not come up, and why would he be charged when McCain did the same thing for Don Diamond land developer in Congress? I'm looking at Arizona's repub party and the interference of Bush/Cheney/Rove in Mr. Renzi'e case, is this what happened with McCain? Jonathen can you find this out and put in a column. It should be discussed. I can't belief a stupid Ayres coverage, or Acorn gets more than something like this which is true corruption.

Even in these hard economic times, I have given money to the Barack Obama campaign and the DNC. I consider that these funds although modest by most people's standards are my investment in the future of this great nation. I made repeated donations over the course of the political primary system because I feel that I am investing in my grandchildren's future. Barack Obama is the only one still on the stage would can repair the mess that has been made by the immoral Bush regime. I have never previously given my hard-earned funds to a Presidential campaign. This year, however, I think that the stakes are too high to not do so. I was so thrilled when I heard that Barack Obama has now purchased a block of air time just prior to the election because I think that this is a wise decision in a campaign of many wise decisions. The majority of the American people are finally tuning into the political contest and a favorable impression of Barack Obama is sure to be set in stone with the last ditch TV blitz. I am going to be thrilled to honestly tell my grandchildren in the future that I was a part of the process that saved America.

I want to get more facts before I decide what I think the truth is about Joe. But one thing I am rather sure about is that once again McCain acted without determining what the results would be. I have heard a lot of rumors about "Joe" but the only ones I now know are fact are that he would not have to pay higher taxes, he would in fact get a tax cut under Obama's plan. The second thing is that he owes about $12,000.00 in back state taxes. I also think that after the fun of being in the public eye wears off he will be a bit disgruntled about McCain making him such a figurehead. This could very well backfire badly on McCain.... and I don't really have a problem with that.

No matter what your beliefs are, no matter who you plan to vote for, anyone who is being honest would have to admit that Obama has run the better campaign. Obama is clearly in charge of his, while McCain seems to be told what to do by his, and not always wisely. Obama's campain has been consistent and stable... McCain's... well.. just hasn't.

Clearly Obama has the higher level of management skill. You would have thought though, that McCain would have learned from the mistakes of his 2000 campaign... which ran through nearly all their money in a matter of weeks and was a chaos filled mess. I guess not. This time he did better, but not nearly good enough for me to trust him to manage the country.

I'm a proud supporter of Senator Barack Obama and have donated generously to his campaign. I think he will be an exceptional President. I'm convinced that he will repair relations with the global community and take the country in a positive direction.

I believe it is crucial that we elect Barack Obama president. I have never felt more strongly about an election. Nevertheless, I am troubled by Mr. Obama's ability to raise record amounts of money.

Some argue that the number of donors to Mr. Obama and the amount of money donated to him are true reflections of democracy--millions of citizens exercising their political right by making modest donations. But in the 8/5/08 NYT edition, Michael Luo and Christopher Drew reported that one-third of donations to Mr. Obama have been in the amount of $1000 or more.

I realize there are free speech issues involved. But someone who can contribute the legal limit of $2300 has more voice in the election process than someone who can't and the poor are effectively eliminated from the process.

Money buys elections. Raising campaign donations does not/should not equate with gaining votes. This time my candidate has the money. But next time might be different.

Posted by: rmbus54 | October 18, 2008 3:27 AM | Report abuse

I, also, have never contributed to a political campaing until this year, and I also contributed to Obama.

Why is it considered a mistake, in a presidential contest, for a candidate to refuse public money? Why is it wrong to rely solely on donations from the public? What is wrong for people from both ends of the economic laddar to participate economically in a presidential election? Have we ever seen an election where so many people have sent in $5.00, $10,00, $20.00, and stood beside, as equals, with those who send in $5,000 or $10,000? I think that is part of what democracy is supposed to be about.

And, finally, why is it honorable for a candidate to feed at the public trough, and cast aspersions at his foe, for using his own money?

I believe that Senator Obama, whatever his other talents, is the most committed ''abortion-rights'' presidential candidate of either major party since the Roe v. Wade abortion decision in 1973. Despite what Prof. Kmiec suggests, the party platform Senator Obama runs on this year is not only aggressively ''pro-choice;'' it has also removed any suggestion that killing an unborn child might be a regrettable thing. On the question of homicide against the unborn child - and let's remember that the great Lutheran pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer explicitly called abortion ''murder'' - the Democratic platform that emerged from Denver in August 2008 is clearly anti-life.

Obama SCREWS Lower/Middle Class Taxpayers by Allowing the Bush Tax Cuts to Expire-Taxes Increase!
snopes.com
The Democrats have a dirty little secret that they don’t want you to know. It is that their mantra of Bush’s “Tax Cuts for the Rich” is unabashedly false. The rich paid a higher percentage of the total tax bill under the Bush plan than under Clinton. In fact, the expiration of the Bush tax cut savages the low- and middle-class voters.
This case has been made and fact-checked with the ever-liberal Snopes.Com. The Tax Foundation used “tax table” rates between the Bush and Clinton tax plans to shows a huge difference for low income taxpayers, sometimes even a 100% tax increase when going backward to the Clinton “tax table” rates versus Bush.
Not so fast, says Snopes! Tax rates do not equal marginal rates, so they run some numbers that supposedly reflect that. Even using their own numbers in the table below, the results are damning.
WITH THE EXPIRATION OF THE BUSH TAX CUTS:
Single tax payers in three typical low to middle income categories have the taxes increased 12% on average
Single Taxpayer making $30K – Pays 15% more in taxes when Bush tax cuts expire
Single Taxpayer making $50K – Pays 10% more in taxes when Bush tax cuts expire
Single Taxpayer making $75K – Pays 11% more in taxes when Bush tax cuts expire
But married taxpayers in typical low to middle income really get the shaft! Their taxes are increased 20.5% on average
Married Taxpayer making $60K – Pays 19.5% more in taxes when Bush tax cuts expire
Married Taxpayer making $75K – Pays 21.5% more in taxes when Bush tax cuts expire
Married Taxpayer making $125K – Pays 20.5% more in taxes when Bush tax cuts expire
Remember, these numbers are conservative. UNDER THE GUISE OF CANCELLING THE EVIL BUSH TAX CUTS, OBAMA IS FOISTING A TAX INCREASE ON AMERICA, FOCUSED ON LOW-TO-MIDDLE CLASS TAXPAYERS.

as a result of this "accountable and responsible" Republican's revealing "JOE" the family values ABC bible thumper network spent their money exposing JOE's public records of tax cheater, wife beater, perjurer who can't qualify for loans to buy an unlicensed plumbing company that raised the ire of local LAWS overseeing licensing and the UNIONS ire since JOE claimed on facebook he's a UNION member of which he is not, nor ever has been nor ever applied to be in.

Tsk, tsk . . . can we JUST ONCE witness a GOP'er be "accountable and responsible" let alone be ethical and honest as the Republican at the debate was being in tandem with ABC?

Reminds to Somali merchants voting with their pickup-vans for the Islamists that the forever idiotic US did trash for Punt based piracy. Obama will learn hopefully soon what the world makes go round and talk with the Taliban. He should talk with Bin Laden too like Nixon did talk with Mao. Israel will survive such talks, talks are nothing and peace is necessary anyway. Jerusalem is a holy town for all.

WOW, Palin just BOMBED on SNL.

I thought she would at least get one or two laughs, or maybe some applause here and there.

No laughs. Zero. She looked pissed off the entire time. Yikes!
Tina Fey was her usual hilarious self in her parody of the biggest joke of a VP in history.

Maybe it's a small step forward for the wicked witch of Wasilla since she didn't get roundly BOOed by the crowd like she did at the Flyers game. (although I could hear a few 'boos' when she stepped up to the podium, but nothing major)

At least Mark Walhberg was funny. But what does it say for your personality when you get out shined on SNL by Marky Mark? (not that Mark Walhberg isn't bad ass... he just isn't marketed as a funny guy).

I suppose it's a real tough transition to go from spewing race baiting hate speech and covering up scandals in her home state to trying to be funny on SNL.

Like Obama says. The election is not about him. It is about the people who contribute to him.

People like Joe the Plumber say they owe nothing to this government, but I would like to see how much money he could make in most other countries with his handyman-turned-businessman skills.

Who are you going to trust in these tough economic times?

Should you trust a proven veteran with ability to reform and work across the isle
or the most liberal, partisan and rookie senator who wants to "spread around" your hard earned dollars?

Our corporations are forced to raise capital from foreigners - so is it time to cut capital gains taxes
as McCain will and allow Americans to benefit from taking a risk in these volatile markets, or is it time
to raise capital gains taxes as Obama promises?

Last US president which stopped free trade during recession ( Obama’s plan ) was Hoover and we all know that
what followed - the Great Depression.

On top of 700 Billions bailout Obama wants to spend another TRILLION dollars on his health care reform.
Guess what - it will cost much more and will not achieve even fraction of expected results.

THIS IS NOT A TIME TO TAKE A RISK WITH LIBERAL ROOKIE - MCCAIN IS THE RIGHT CHANGE WE NEED

Everyone needs to read the post by 4elise regarding Obama and Frank Marshall Davis because it is absolutly true. A reporter from U.S. News and World Report who just put an article out on Obama said after he researched Obama thoroughly he found that he was the most Marxist of any presidential candidates ever,(I believe it is the Oct.15th issue). Of course there is so much more some of which you have heard and are probably ignoring instead of checking on the facts. Why don't you supporters do your own homework on him?
Why do you just listen to all of his promises and let him entrance you to do what he wants you to do. Check him out. It is all there and easy to find. And if he gets in things will gradually change for the worse as you will have enabled him and his true agenda. Please do note that even with the amount of money he has to spend but especially the fact that the press have protected him and bolstered him while tearing McCain /Palin down constantly, the polls show almost a tie. That should give all you BO bloggers a clue as to how well he is really doing.Trust me BO and his people are nervous because they know the real poll numbers. Why do you think he wants to spend a fortune to do a half hour show on all the channels a week before the election? Regarding all that money, I think if they looked a little further into it they would find some more (they already have found some suspiciuos donations)large donations from some let's say..unusual donators. They want him in and they will do anyting to get him in. The American people are not stupid and... McCain is going to win.

It's sickening to see the racist, ignorant views posted by some of the anti-Obama GOP diehards who obviously feed into the lies and propaganda perpetuated by McCain, Palin and the GOP Neocons.
I am an Independent who has voted across party lines many times.
But it will be hard for me to ever again vote for anyone connected to a party that uses such slanderous, filthy tactics that the Republicans have lowered themselves to. God help us if the Republicans manage to pull this one out.

Actually, there only in a statistical dead heat by national numbers, but McCain is way behind in state by state, electoral vote poll's.He basically is in the same place Hillary was after her long fought primary, plenty of votes but not in the right places.
And to make it harder for John,. the states he needs to pull off an upset are extremely far out of range, and getting worse. The only one turning to his advantage is Fla. where in Pa. and Ohio, he's allmost too far out to gain anything back.
Sorry John,

Oh, and Obama Camp finally reported over 150 Million last month, so the juggernaut grew more than people estimated, which is why the RNC is trying to mix up voter registration, and campaign financial statements, etc.

The DNC has it's act together, and is doing the things necessary to provide good government. That while overall the GOP is imploding. The result is a huge financial contrast.

Those who sell advertising time in the media must be making a real killing, too. It so happens most of them have endorsed Obama. I'm sure that's just a coincidence.
Does either candidate, or the advertising people really care for the voter?
They only care about money and power.

Oh...that Joe the Plumber who is not licensed or registered to do my plumbing if I lived anywhere in Ohio? You mean that Joe the Plumber who claims not to need a plumbing license, even though the licensing department in Toledo, OH says that need an individual license, regarding of the licensing certification of his employer? Or...are we talking about that Joe the Plumber who owes almost $1200 to the IRS that we're subsidizing for the moment...that Joe the Plumber? What...I know...that Joe the Plumber who applied for an appentice license with the plumbers union, but didn't bother to finish it? Oh...one more thing, it's that Joe the Plumber who skipped out from paying traffic fines that he incurred while living in Meza, AZ and ending up with a suspended license, even though Ohio had yet to catch up with him? This man has much nerve to complain about the media combing over his story when McCain the booster elevated him to celebrity status, even though Joe the Plumber decided to become a media sensation himself by holding a news conference to share with his his worldly views. Yeah...looks like Joe the Plumber doesn't like his taste of sucesss since he's now complaining about the comments posted online about him and the truthfulness of his story in the first place.

I had to laugh about about the, "People should not be penalized for success by paying higher taxes."

Show me someone who makes $249,999 a year who will asert he or she will not a lift a finger to make any extra dollars because it it will add 3% more taxes.

My friends who are millionaires claim to be happy to make so much money that they have to pay higher taxes.

Maybe this country needs to penalize those slackers who only make $249,999.99. They should have have to pay twice as much tax because they sat around twiddling their thumbs and failed to make the extra money needed to avoid the slacker penalty.

Is there any conservative out there who has a working brain? I see no evidence of such a creature.

Just a little fact checking.

Spritey, I don't think Palin is a Baptist. Her church is "non-denomimational" meaning it is not associated with any organized denomination like Baptist, Lutherans, United Church of Christ, etc.

If allowing me to pay into the same health plans Congress gives themselves is "marxist" then send me a red shirt.

If you have a pre-existing condition such as asthma, high blood-pressure, high cholesterol, etc. or have ever had an operation for anything (like an appendectomy) you may NEVER be able to buy health insurance. NEVER.

Before you assail Obama as a marxist, I suggest you take your blood pressure.

I have had my fill of the Joe, "my name is not really Joe, I am not a licensed Plumber and I am a registered Republican, who owes back taxes." This is the latest pathetic stunt of the McCain campaign. It is amazing to me that even today... McCain and Palin are still referring to this man as Joe the Plumber after he has been totally debunked as the fraud that he is. I have no sympathy for a man who willingly stood in his driveway and conducted numerous press conferences. He would have been wise to just ignore the media.

Now for the war chest, I like many other supporters, have given Mr. Obama numerous online contributions. I am appalled and shocked that I keep hearing the McCain surrogates, i.e. Cong. Heather Wilson, demand that our names and contribution amounts be made public. I AM AN AMERICAN and I deserve my privacy. I am offended at the suggestion that my dontions are somehow SUSPECT. ENOUGH. Matter of fact, I think I will donate some more RIGHT NOW.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!
Now isn't this something to think about!
If Barack Obama would apply for a job with the FBI or with the Secret Service, he would be disqualified because of his past association with William Ayers, a known terrorist.
If he is elected President he would not qualify to be his own body guard!

How can someone who can't guard a president become a president this disturbs me and should disturb all americans....WAKEUP AMERICA..he is associated with many terrorists......he accidently stated he is a Muslim...NO ACCIDENT Would you accidently stat that you are any other religion than what you are.....I DON'T THINK SO....

This was a message from a highly decorated and one of the most respected intelligence agents in the world. His last warning words to his beloved country before he died last month.
Remember what I said. It is true and part of a misinformation plan is to make the truth look paranoid. Just look around and see the media and DNC parroting the party line. The Christian Religion is evil. Homosexual is normal. Patriotism evil. Rebellion and changing the Constitution normal. Disarm the citizens normal. NRA and hunters evil. The Military and heroes evil. Anti military and ridicule heroes normal. Success and hard work evil. The government owes me normal. Shocking this is right out of the handbook of communist and Islamic terrorism guides to revolution and over throwing a country. Schools teach the government is evil and socialism utopia normal. Divide the races through agitators and media. Destroy marriage and the families. The state is the parent. Call evil good and smear and destroy good. Look at the Hollywood crowd. McCarthy was right and history has proven it. They flock around dictators and tyrants Chavez, Castro, Iranian, and Syrians. Wake up and vote for McCain if you want freedom. After 40 years of Intelligence service I can just say look and watch. Look at Obama’s friend’s Islamic Marxists terror operatives. Rev. Wright Marxist preacher of Racist Hate and division. William Ayers Marxist radical terrorist. Farrakhan Muslim Marxist. Research the hidden years at Columbia University. Also the overseas trips. Victor Marchenco, Mohamud Kioj, Sayad Kael, Fhaad Hussan these are a few of the Islamic and KGB friends who financed and open doors here through contacts. I am not long for this earth. A Terminal Sickness has attached to me. I want to warn my beloved country.

What a pathetic leader for the mighty GOP. He's your call to arms? He can't even pay his taxes. How's he gonna buy his boss's plumbing business? He's gonna make $250,000 a year in his dreams! Ha!
The GOP is a laugh a minute. Desperately trying to hang on the good old days of a rich, white Christian only America. Most of you conservatives probably don't even go to church. So next time around wny not make the election a special episode of American Idol and use the money raised for charity instead. The result will be just as democratic and people will pay just as much attention to the real issues as they do in an election. Hype, spin and media manipulation are the real winners - most of the voters are just sheep.

Write in none of the above try again

Any time some BushMcCain bloviator starts saying things like, "He's a Muslim!" "Wadn't even bornin 'Merica!" "He gave ACORN $800,000 dollars for votes!" or other lies--

--just ask them if they're willing to lay money on it.

A friendly bet, say, on whether they can prove their assertions about ACORN or Freddie Mac or Ayers, whatever it may be.

Just ask them to make a statement and be willing to put their money where their piehole is.

Finally, we (the people) find someone we would like to be president, someone who energizes an entire electorate, and there are those who oppose it because they are afraid. A generational change is upon us, a time to step up, and the G.O.P. is hung up on a smear campaign. McCain is gasping for air.

Joe the plumber AKA Sam Wurzelbacher was a republican plant. Not only that, the Obama campaign has on record a $100.00 donation that he made to their campaign.
What I find so amazing about John McCain and the McCain/Palin ticket is that when they see that they are in the inside lane behind the bus they never think to pull out before the bus stop. They end up being stuck due to their total inability to anticipate what is down the road.
