Sarah Palin rocks!

Sarah Palin should never come as close as she did to commanding the world stage as vice president of the United States. But if the Tea Partying former governor of Alaska wants to grace the late-night or talk show stage, I'll be a faithful watcher. If you didn't see her on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night take a look.

Palin's comfort in front of the camera and with the material, not to mention her don't-mess-with-me jeans-and-heels outfit, made Palin a feast for the eyes and ears. Imagine her hurling zingers at Democrats, elites, Hollywood, mainstream media and Washington from the safety of an air-conditioned studio with an adoring audience. It would be great. Palin would command a killer salary that would cement her family's financial security. Most importantly, it would keep her away from the national political stage, an arena for which she is nowhere near prepared.

Sarah is more qualified than the community organizer sitting in the white house....responsibility for running a town and a state trump community organizing and a short term as a state senator.

She's one step ahead of Dennis Miller, at least -- he started off funny before going to hackneyed and bombastic. Palin's approach skips over that unnecessary first bit. Cant' say I'd watch her routine again though, unless she comes up with some jokes that postdate The Flood.

Sarah Palin came across as a whiner and a liar.

She whined about how she isn’t given a chance to tell the truth or set the record straight in the “mainstream media” and cited her “Family Guy” affair. The woman posted a broadside on her Facebook page and she twitters non-stop. She has her Fox News outlet, which is by the way, mainstream not to mention teabagger affairs and Leno. She has as much access to the media as anyone else but she lies about how she can’t get her message out.

And why can’t she construct a simple sentence? What’s with the “I am desiring..?” and “I am wanting…?” What’s wrong with I desire and I want?

As a woman who spent a career in the military I understand (or, I am understanding) how women get beat up. Mrs. Palin hasn’t even gotten a scratch yet. She plays both the tough frontier woman and the victimized girl and conservatives eat it up. Pick a role, Mrs. Palin. Most women I know who are successful choose to be tough.

I hope anyone who thinks palin is in anyway "qualified" to be the POTUS doesn't vote. Sorry, but the huge majority of human beings on the planet disagree with you. She can't even get 50% of republicans to call her qualified. And don't brag too much about "running a state" since she quit before her term expired. How many governors in all of history have done that? My own opinion is that a tree stump is more qualified for the job than palin is. Bush was the least qualified president in history, but I would rank him way above palin. She should disappear from the national stage period, but there will always be hordes of mindless sheep to support her. After all, most of that ilk don't think for themselves, since they have rush, et al to do that for them. Palin would probably have a nuclear war on her hands within months, because she's even more incompetent and dangerous than bush and cheney were. The woman is an utter and complete joke, but once again, those who are woefully unqualified can easily convince the mindless masses that day is night, and black is white. Look how many of you kool aid guzzling sheep bought the bush/cheney party line for six or seven years. It took you that long to figure out what the rest of us knew from day one. Palin wouldn't even be in the news if it weren't for the masses of mindless. I'd vote for the janitor who mops the halls in the white house before I'd vote for this miscreant.

Why is this news? Seriously why is this news? Sarah Palin's lies and convenient distortions represent me as much as the Republicans and Democrats in the US Congress represents me. I could care less about either. She herself is an elite...among VILLAGE IDIOTS.

Being governor of a state with fewer people than an Illinois congressional district is no big accomplishment... especially when you don't even stick around to finish your term.

That anyone cares what she says is a sad statement on the lack of leadership in this country.

If she would spend more time learning about the substance of issues, she could spend less time developing smart alec explanations for why she couldn't remember that she was for tax cuts, energy independence, and lifting America's spirits.

What will determine Ms. Palin's political future is whether in 2012 the country is seeking to change direction.

That's up to Mr. Obama, not Ms. Palin. If Mr. Obama performs well and people are happy, Ms. Palin will not be President. In fact, she won't even run.

Until the 2012 situation becomes clear, all Ms. Palin has to do is survive as a popular political force with some significant segment of the population. She doesn't have to have a platform, or a program, since she's not campaigning for any office. If fact, staking out specific policy positions two years before a campaign starts would be politically stupid. The fact that Ms. Palin is not doing this, is a sign of her intelligence. Smart hunters wait to pull the trigger until the right moment.

So, it's really all up to Mr. Obama. Will he perform or won't he?

What the **** is wrong with you, Capehart? Are you insane? Yeah, you could be funny too if you had writers. You might also write something in the newspaper that's worth reading, too -- if you had writers.
Sarah Palin is Anita Bryant. She is Anne Coulter. She is every pinched faced Helen Schafley female brainless clown that's ever graced the publicans stage. She is a scourge, a political prostitute, a low intellect of laughable prestige. She is the Republican answer to Paris Hilton/Britney Spears/Kim Kardashian trollops. She is an AMWAY distributor. She's a complete and utter scam. That you want to watch more of her is fairly indicative of how closely you resemble her.

Gee... a light-hearted review of Sarah Palin successful appearance (I'd give it a B+ ) still manages to bring out raw anger and disgust in some posters.

Liberal Dems control the Congress by big majorities and the White House for at least 2 more years, but the Left is still as anger and mean as when Bush was in office.

Lighten up ! The last poll has Obama beating Sarah by 7 points (50 - 43) in a match-up. No worries eh mates ?

Jonathan Capehart is wrong to imply that Sarah Palin has little or no chance of winning the GOP presidential nomination in 2012.

The opposite is true. Sarah Palin is increasingly getting to be the "darling" of millions of conservatives, moderates, right-wingers, Christian evangelicals and those tea partygoers.

Media exposure--a lot of which she is now getting--can only improve her chances as a presidential wannabe. John McCain hasn't changed his mind about Sarah Palin: he still insists that she is supremely qualified to be President of these United States.

lol, palin is palin, period. there's just a whole lot more to her than you're used to seeing.
palin left the governorship with $30 billion dollars in their oil fund, no state sales tax, no state income tax, a check from the state for thousands of dollars a year to each and every citizen of alaska, and every msm outlet in the world searched for 2 years now and can't find a single worthwhile bad thing she's ever done. our president zero certainly can't say he's ever done anything that's one tenth of what she's accomplished. palin didn't fill her statehouse with tax cheats, communists, crooked labor leaders, and complete damned fools who can't find the nearest restroom. in other words, he's gathered a bunch of fools such as himself so they can't tell the emperor's got no clothes.

Capehart's very appropriate column is absolutely correct. Sarah Palin is attractive, funny and did a great job on the Leno show. His column was to the point but most of the comments here took off on Palin as a politician and continued the slamming she has taken since she was selected as a VP candidate. What is the matter with you people who can't utter the word Palin without a negative diatribe. Capehart was quick to point out that she should stay away from national office and he was right so why all the all the criticism of Palin when she is not running for anything.

She is doing just what she wants to do - traveling the country, making money and using the talents she does have - which are considerable.

She will never be president so let it go. The incivility in these comments is appalling.

That fact that she was the most popular governor in the country should not count for anything? The only governor in the country that met face to face with the Titans of the Oil industry, did not bend to their will, or take money under the table (as so many have for decades, but instead made them bend to her will. I question the intelligence of anyone who question the intelligence of others. This is a women who has earned every step she ever taken in life. She never road the coattails of her husband's popularity, or have to go thousand of miles from their home to run for an office that a Party machine pave the way for. She never had an affirmative action position saved for her, or counted on an entire ethic group to vote for her because the tone of his skin color.

The only time she has not been successful is when others decide without any factual information decide she is not good enough. Since I disagree with you. I'll see you in 2012.

I might be wrong, but judging from the movement of her head, I think that she was using a teleprompter during her stand-up routine. ???????????????????????

Mr. Capehart,

You belong to that group of people who believe they have the rather extraordinary power to see beyond the appearance to the latent and sometimes awe-inspiring capabilities of average human beings.

As a former fighter pilot, those of us from elite schools, the academy or big cities used to look at the farm boys and ranchers kids struggle with material we found simple. In the air, however, and under circumstances that were potentially lethal they performed with a grace and confidence we couldn't touch.

We get your backhanded compliment of Sarah Palin. Joan Rivers, yes; Joan of Arc, never.

I find that quintessentially arrogant. Greatness often resides latent in the most unexpected places and people. Need I remind you that the man I'm almost certain you voted for, despite having the formidable resources of the state department behind him could not even nail one simple Russian word?

Give it a rest, lick a finger, and read the prevailing winds. Americans are telling intellectuals to stay in the lecture halls, laboratories, and surgical suites but to get the hell out of their
personal lives.

I used to think Jonathan Capehart was smart.

Palin represents the worst of dumb politics, and he want to glorify her. Yuk!
