Not the Gores?!

Ok, you're not going to believe this, but Al and Tipper Gore are cool. At least that's how I've observed them (at meetings, dinners, events) over the last 10 years. Al is not nearly as stiff as his reputation portrays him. His wit is as dry as the best martini. Tipper is that down-to-earth, fun-loving person you want to glide through a party with. She's sassy and loud, with an infectious laugh.

That's why it shocked me when my TweetDeck chirped the following tweet from Politico's Patrick Gavin: POLITICO: Al Gore and Tipper Gore splitting... The Gores were that couple you could never imagine splitting, especially after that impassioned kiss at the 2000 Democratic Convention when Al accepted the nomination for president. But after 40 years of marriage they announced their separation today.

We are announcing today that after a great deal of thought and discussion, we have decided to separate. This is very much a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration. We ask for respect for our privacy and that of our family, and we do not intend to comment further.

I wish them both well. And hope they find happiness soon. Cool people almost always do.

While this is a shame for all those concerned and after 40 years, to decide that you are better off separated than still married,,

I would like to go on record, that what we are just witnessing is the greatest danger to Marriage and the Family in America today,,,,

So lets stop blaming Gay people wanting to marry is the greatest challenge to the Family and Marriage,,,,

The greatest challenge to the Family in America and Marriage is DIVORCE....

Did you feel a tingle up your leg when you met them? Stop with the fawning, already.

How quickly the left forgets that "cool" Tipper was trying to censor music.

Does anyone really believe that any self-respecting woman can live with a SELF-AGRANDIZING, PUFFED UP, EGOTISTICAL BLOWHARD LIKE AL GORE? THINK AGAIN.

Who cares?! -except maybe their kids. I really don't know how Tipper put up with this man for all those years.
