Jay Carney to the podium

The big announcement isn't expected until tomorrow, but this being Washington the news has already leaked that Jay Carney will succeed Robert Gibbs as White House press secretary. We'll get all the deep bio stuff tomorrow. Here's just a smidge of what you need to know now.

Carney is currently the press secretary to Vice President Biden. It's his first job in government. One he took on with gusto. Biden snatched Carney from Time magazine, where he was the Washington bureau chief. He's married to Claire Shipman of ABC News. And the couple is popular on the social scene and beloved by many in journalism and politics. So, now Carney is about to ascend to the toughest podium on the planet. It will be fun to watch how he does under those hot lights. As George Stephanopoulos found out 20 years ago (before he did the reverse commute from politics to journalism), it's not as easy as it might appear.
Congratulations, Jay! Good luck!

There is a revolving door between Democrats and the
MSM. Mr.Carney's wife is the Senior National Corespondent for ABCNews Good Morning America. Does this mean that she will recuse herself from reporting on all things coming out of the White House? I doubt it.
Actually the relationship between the Democrat Party and the MSM is more an incestuous one than revolving door.

Good thing the Leftists have assured us there is no Left Wing bias in the media.

"Good thing the Leftists have assured us there is no Left Wing bias in the media."
Only Fox has filled its ranks with former and future GOP presidential candidates. How's that "fair and balanced" working out for you? That a press secretary comes from the (GASP) press is only a surprise to cretins. Does anyone with a brain think he should have chosen someone like O'Really?

Actually as a liberal I have no real problem with this. If you are hiring a media person in gov't you might as well get those who have the most experience.
Of course you leave out the revolving door in previous Republican administrations. Tony Snow-Fox, talk radio, fill-in for Limbaugh and part of the administrations of both G.W and G.HW Bush.
Ron Nessen Nixon-Ford NBC News as well as his sidekick Dianne Sawyer
Edward R. Murrow-JFK/LBJ
Carl Rowen-LBJ

Hey Jim is Joe Biden an idiot or what? Or does Obama believe like Biden that Mubarak is not a dictator?
Funny I haven't seen many MSM reports of Biden's remarks that he would not call Mubarak a dictator.
I've seen a few stories of Hillary condeming Egypt for shutting down the internet but very few stories about a bill that would give the
same power to Obama.
Of course we all know there is no liberal or Obama bias in the MSM.
Everything that is happening today is all GWB's fault.

Wheeeeee..............this is a full staircase of a step up from the roly-poly buffoon Gibbs.
The last press secretary with any class was Tony Snow who I might add for the benefit of fingersfly, came from the press as well...gasp. If you like to bash people, do feel free but I bet your mommy told you not to speak ill of the dead....that is if anyone bothered to give you any morality "lessons".
