Friday p-Op quiz: 'Punk'd' Edition

By Jonathan Capehart

A governor got punk'd. A dictator fell off the deep end, mentally speaking. An ugly law was called out by the president for what it is: unconstitutional. And a senator declared a doomed-before-it-started war -- on prostitutes. That's basically what happened this week. But knowing all of that won't be enough to pass today's p-Op quiz.

We've got Kardashians and Gaddafi; Michelle Obama and Lindsay Lohan; Osama Bin Laden and Lady Gaga. You'll see how they all fit together when you take the quiz.

Why drag the Kardashians into this? Yes, they are shallow and untalented but bringing them into political discussion as all-purpose scapegoats (like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears before them) is the way the media misdirects legitimate public rage toward irrelevant figures. It's especially egregious when a weasel like Mark Zuckerberg who made his fortune selling Facebook members' private information to big corporations for money is Man of the Year and the subject of a fawning motion picture nominated for an Oscar.

Loved the survey... even though I only got 60 percent right... :(

Limbaugh criticizing Michelle Obama reminds me of the scene where Cinderella's obnoxious (and physically unappealing) stepsisters try to destroy her chances of going to the ball. The only one taking their side is their evil mother.

In Rush's case, for a man of his race and history to criticize a Black woman for wanting to improve the eating habits of American children is to add a certain cringe-factor. Just remember, Mrs. Obama, he also took a vicious swipe at a 13-year-old child, Chelsea Clinton.
