Day one of the Sarah Palin moratorium

By Dana Milbank

I survived Day One of my February Sarah Palin moratorium, defeating the evil plans of ABC News's Rick Klein. Only 27 days to go...

Update, 12:35, Feb. 2: The sentence as written above was posted by an editor, not Dana. So Dana's moratorium remains intact.

Mr Milbank,

in addition, how about a PERMANENT moratorium on your fawning over every little/ignorant/weak/leftist DIMocRAT extremist?
have you considered becoming a REAL journalist, who believes in TRUTH & FAIRNESS in "news" reporting?

if you did that, we would have at least ONE honest person on "the washington COMpost" editorial page.

fyi, i read "the COMpost" for precisely the same reason that i used to read PRAVDA "in the old days", i.e., so that i would know what the ememy of LIBERTY was thinking.

btw, get used to writing: SENATOR Palin, when your moratorium is over.
(Sarah will be the next junior US Senator from AK.)

just my opinion.

yours, TN46
coordinator, CCTPP

Dana. The perfect liberal Beta male name. Idiot.

Dana Milbank celebrates the first day of his Palin-free month by calling out her name in public. This is like a pathetic sex addict celebrate the first day of his masterbation-free month by masterbating in public.

Dana Milbank and Tracy Morgan can celebrate with each other by masterbating in front of each other.

Dana Milbank and Tracy Morgan - a pair of sad pathetic fame-seekers, celebrity-wannabee.......ha,ha,ha,ha,ha....

Dana is not nearly as important as Dana believes he is.

I don't care what Dana talks about or doesn't talk about any day of the year.

Posted by: thinker16 | February 1, 2011 5:56 PM | Report abuse

Milbank, you are so irrelevant. You can't get a click unless you put Sarah Palin's name in the caption. You are in the final, tertiary stage of PDS.

Posted by: bubbasouth | February 1, 2011 5:57 PM | Report abuse

I take a vow that I will not masterbate in the next 24 hour !

To constantly remind myself the great significance of this masterbation-free day, I'll masterbate in public during the very five minute of every hour of this great masterbation-free day.

This is my vow and I swear to follow it obediently.

Posted by: skponggol | February 1, 2011 5:58 PM | Report abuse

Wow, The Palin will be the next senator from Alaska. I guess that's 'cause she'll have Joe Miller's endorsement? But who will serve the last 3 years of her term - you don't really expect her to serve the whole 6 years do you? How would she put food on her family then?

Posted by: buckcameron01 | February 1, 2011 6:01 PM | Report abuse

Fitting that Schumer was in the clip - who cannot name the 3 branches of government....and Snooki...no explanation needed...

but "Dana" calls Palin and Bachman idiots!

Class liberal thinking!!

Very transparent agenda from a snarky guy with a huge chip.

Well, I am not boycotting reading about our favorite intellectual giant and, of course, her herd of barking seals (who are yapping about Dana's column on this list). You guys are priceless. You're all seem to carry all the intellectual and emotional gravity while shrilly coming to your favorite prom queen's defense. It's funny, only until I realize how many or you mental lightweights are OUT there! You guys are always going on like kids about "you're just scared of her". Wrong. But we are scared of you. How long can you guys live in that lily white, FOX-scented bubble of yours, anyway? Oh and thanks for urging us to go to truth and fairness in reporting on her. And where would that be? All together now, Barking Seals...........

An observation and note to Dana Milbank and his misogynistic male followers.

Sarah Palin is more of a man then you will ever be and more of a women than you will every have!

Ya'll leave Dana alone. I understand his dilemma. This idiot witch says something incredibly dumb and stupid every moment of the day and every time she opens her piehole that you HAVE to comment. It's imperative. So cut Dana some slack people. He'll get it together soon.

Dana, if you are going to spend the month congratulating yourself on not mentioning "she who must not be named", you defeat your whole purpose.

Notice that Milbank picked February - the shortest month.

That doesn't show self-confidemce he can kick his Sarah Palin obsession for long. A 31-day must have seemed like an eternity.

Maybe Hinkley vowed not to say Jodie Foster's name during February and failed like Milbank.

Has Milbank ever been arrested for stalking?

Milbank: Release your shrink records.

It would be interesting to compare Milbank's psychological profile to Hinkley's.

Two sad men, who can never touch the women they obsess about.

Here's to both Ms. Foster and Ms. Palin as they make their way a world full of Hinkleys and Milbanks!

Great. You can't go for one day without mentioning her name. Give it up Mr. Milbank. Just put "Palin" in every post. You'll have way more hits that way.

You just couldn't survive a single day without your fingers typing the word "Palin" on the keyboard. Shame on you! You lose this bet and our self respect.

Of course it's all about Palin. She just can't get enough of being reckless with her mouth on top of inciting violence with her right-wing extremism. There is no stopping her and she refuses to back down or even tone it down. This is a prime example... it couldn't be in poorer taste. I drew a visually commentary about this very thing on my artist's blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/01/sarah-palin-made-me-do-it.html

Milbank is desperate to talk about Palin now that his latest target, Glenn Beck, was defended by Abe Foxmann who said his name and statements were used without permission by the socialist group Jewish Funds, whom Milbank publicized as "Rabbis against Glenn Beck". Turned out it was really "Lying Socialists against Glenn Beck".

Yes, please say nothing about the cutie pie media hound with the big hair and don't talk about her badly dancing daughter and all the bad family values we have to watch, endure and retch over either. Just go completely blank on the subject and see if it can spread a little throughout the country, nation and world because we could do a lot better without the likes of she who cannot be named, and her rather disgusting (from the above comments) ilk.

Posted by: epmontgomery | February 2, 2011 3:05 AM | Report abuse

But suppose there is another mass murder. Won't you have to mention her again as someone responsible?

Posted by: scvaughan | February 2, 2011 6:53 AM | Report abuse

If you don't want to give Palin attention, then stop talking about her. I guess you're trying to be ironic in some "clever" media way, but you're in fact just as annoying as her, maybe more so. Get a life, dude. Get some friends, go out and play in the snow. Help another person, volunteer at a homeless shelter, make the world a better place, instead of verbally wacking off and amping up bad energy on the Internet. You are in danger of becoming a black hole, no offense, and you really need to examine your motives in life. OK, now I'm going back to my real life!

Posted by: jimbeau1 | February 2, 2011 7:20 AM | Report abuse

Well, we would Palin. She is the biggest joke going and rarely opens her mouth without making herself a bigger one and provides the best material for the comedians. She has a function - butt of all the jokes.

Posted by: withersb | February 2, 2011 7:52 AM | Report abuse

Don't talk about not mentioning her, don't mention her! If the corporate press didn't hype her all the time, no one would give a crap about the quitter with the litter on Twitter. A half-term governor from a state full of idiots the rest of us have to support! It's only because greedy billionaires in the GOP want to use her as a puppet that we've ever heard of her.

Palin's name gets the mouse clicks a journalist craves. Did mine anyway. Best thing that could happen when Obama runs again is to have Sarah there as his foil. Doubt if he could get past any of the other competent candidates the Republicants might select. Let's hear it one more time - Palin for Pres.

Posted by: chuckles55 | February 2, 2011 10:06 AM | Report abuse

Dana, I know that you know that NOBODY will read anything you write unless it's about Sarah Palin; hence the 'moratorium' and this silly column which violates it.

I challenge you to do what you promised and not mention "she who blows your tiny liberal mind" for the rest of February - NO MATTER HOW LOW YOUR READERSHIP FALLS !

I hope WAPO then fires your assinine behind.

If Mr. Milbank keeps his mouth shut about Sarah Palin, there are thousands of others who will not. Is Palin a threat to the hyper-left? They seem to be ill at ease whenever her name is mentioned. Get a life already and stop obsessing about Sarah Palin. She will do very well on her own, thank you!

Posted by: Tommypie | February 2, 2011 2:19 PM | Report abuse

Milbank,

What in an insight into WaPo journalistic standards. How often do your editors post things under your byline?

Posted by: drewmean | February 2, 2011 3:33 PM | Report abuse

There seems to be something seriously wrong with a daily newspaper that proudly announces that a suspiciously political headline was written by an editor, not by the columnist. And perhaps even more indicative of problems is the overkill of a great daily newspaper targeting its sights (Yes!) on a minority person from a minority state. Is it possible that the Post has learned from Murdoch?

Posted by: emraasch | February 2, 2011 5:20 PM | Report abuse

Your editors post under your name, and use the first person to refer to you?

C'mon, admit it. It's nothing to be ashamed of. You have a problem, and you are unable to deal with it on your own.

To people criticizing Mr. Milbank, shame on you! He has recognized that his hatred of Palin is an addiction, and he's trying to deal with it. We should be encouraging him, especially if he can serve as an inspiration to other liberal "journalists" to deal with their own Loughneresque hatreds of people with whom they disagree.

Mr. Milbank, don't give up. Seek treatment, learn to deal with your intolerance and hatred, and at some point you may be able to take pride in the fact that you're a recovering liberal.
