The Prodigy: Scarily en fuego.

On his MLBSunday page yesterday (D11, for those dead-tree subscribers keeping score at home, near the recycling pile), TWP baseball dude and noted Drive-By Truckers fan Dave Sheinin wrote a a Very Important Item about interim Washington Nationals closer Jon Rauch.

"The time has come for him to choose a cool song to be played as he enters games," Baseball Dave wrote about Rauch, who is filling in for Chad Cordero while Chief tries to remember where he put his fastball.

Baseball Dave didn't really want to tell Rauch what to do, since Rauch is the tallest guy in the majors and could crush Baseball Dave like bug.

But he did suggest several songs that Rauch should avoid, with my own nomination, the Prodigy's "Firestarter," topping that list. (Also included: the Lucinda Williams tune, "I Lost It." Because Baseball Dave is totally in the tank for Lucinda.)

Here on the internets, of course, you're totally out of Rauch's reach. So suggest away: What song should the Brobdingnagian reliever have cued up when he gets the call to close out the game? A little Randy Newman perhaps?

(* = I know that "Rauch" isn't actually pronounced like "rock," but hey, I needed a headline.)
