Spotted: 'Gossip Girl' Dissing Jack Johnson

Overheard on last night's season premiere of Post Rock's favorite teen drama chronicling the lives of the very rich and pouty:

Jenny Humphrey: The white party's, like, super-exclusive. Summer interns do not get to go. Last year they even turned away Jack Johnson!

Rufus Humphrey: Sounds like a party with taste.

Ouch! Poor Mr. Mellow. Everyone loves to take a shot at him.

Now, for some context, the person dissing Jack is an alt-rock dad who is currently on the road with his reunited band Lincoln (Linkin?) Hawk, opening for the Breeders. (They only got the gig because the Luscious Jackson reunion fell through. So the storyline goes.)

In other "Gossip Girl" music news, did you know that Ed Westwick, who plays the equally fashionable and devious Chuck Bass, is British? And that he's in a band called the Filthy Youth? They may as well call themselves The Arctic Libertines but it's still much better than most of the garbage that gets featured on the show itself. (Shwayze? Please.)
