They Played What, Where? Vol. 2, No. 1
A video featuring Beyonce's baby sister, Solange, doing a version of "Viva La Vida" landed in my inbox late last night. Which reminded me that I'd heard something truly strange early Sunday afternoon, while walking in downtown Bethesda. A violinist and electric bass player were set up in front of Barnes and Noble, and as I was walking down the street, away from the store, I began to hear some strangely familiar chords ringing out. And I realized they were performing that weepy Coldplay song, "The Scientist." And you know what? It sounded downright pretty.
