We Mention a Skating Bulldog

Todd Hollenshead, chief executive of Id Software (the Doom and Quake guys), what are you looking forward to seeing?

"Saturday." And the Nintendo Wii.

The show has been chaotic for him, partly because Id's co-founder, programmer John Carmack, got stuck on a plane that was grounded for having a mechanical issue, so he missed his appointments today. We forgot to ask Hollenshead what he thought of the "Doom" movie.

Todd Howard of Bethesda Softworks complained that a photo we ran of him with an article about his company caused him considerable personal and professional embarrassment. So we promised that we would never run this picture again.

Weirdest ploy to generate publicity: A cape-wearing, skateboarding bulldog, making an appearance in front of the Convention Center to promote a steering-wheel gadget that plugs into game consoles for use with racing games.
