The Announcements Keep Coming, Even Before the First Presentation

Kim Hart

DEMO kicked off only a few hours ago, but the participating companies haven't wasted any time in announcing their latest products.

Search company Eyealike is unveiling a service that will find copyrighted material in videos and images embedded in all sorts of Web sites, especially ones heavy with user-generated content like YouTube. The company says the technology can even recognize faces with high accuracy.

SceneCaster, a company that creates three-dimensional virtual worlds, is introducing its SceneWeaver product, which lets people embed, link and vew 3-D scenes on any Web site to stitch together scenes from Flickr, Facebook and other sites.

BitGravity, which delivers online content, is launching a streaming video platform called BG LiveBroadcast to extend the reach of live video on the web. It's intended to broadcast online video in high definition, so it looks as good as it does on your television.

These are only a few of the early announcements. Many more are on the way....
