Federal Judge Delays Google Books Hearing

U.S. District Judge Denny Chin said Thursday he would delay the planned fairness hearing set for Oct. 7 in a New York federal court on Google's settlement for digital book rights with authors and publishers.

Plaintiffs in the settlement--the authors and publishers--had asked for the delay after the Justice Department said the deal could potentially be anti-competitive and harmful to consumers. The court will still hold a hearing on the case Oct. 7, but it will be to discuss how to proceed. Check out the full story here.
