More on Yahoo social move
Here's more on Yahoo's expansion of social networking through its e-mail program.
Anne Toth, head of privacy for Yahoo, said in an interview last Friday that the company briefed the Federal Trade Commission on a "high level" of its plan to expand the applications for sharing through its e-mail. The company has been working toward today's announcement for the past couple years, slowly using its e-mail to share updates. This is the first time all a user's full email contact list will be used for social networking applications such as Facebook, Flickr and comments on various Yahoo sites.
When asked if how the company's email users will respond, she said test groups responded positively.
Here's their answers to FAQs.
And here's their blog on the move.
