Top techies head to the White House for first meeting

By Hayley Tsukayama

The White House will host the first meeting of the President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness on Thursday. Members of the council, which President Obama finalized Wednesday, are some of the top minds and names in the technology industry. Part of the meeting will be webcast.

The council is led by General Electric chief executive Jeffrey Immelt and is part of a White House effort to solicit advice on how to create jobs in the current economy.

There's no word on how many of the council's 22 members will attend Thursday's meeting. Facebook spokesman Andrew Noyes confirmed the social network's COO Sheryl Sandberg will attend today's meeting. Comcast spokeswoman Sena Fitzmaurice said Comcast chief executive Brian Roberts will also be there.

Techies? Really? I'm an engineer and have actually worked with several of these crooked swine and not one of them could so much as program a VCR without help. These are not techies. These are idiots, most of whose sole qualification for being a CEO is that they are sociopath's, brutal amoral wolves who have never had a human emotion their entire lives. If Obama want to do something with the lot of them to help the country he would feed them all through a wood chipper and use the output as organic fertilizer.

Dwight, how about this? A $200,000 annual license fee for *any* foreign guest worker. The current estimate is that each and every H1-B worker *costs* taxpayers around $130,000 a year. That is *US*, subsidizing corporations firing their US workers for these subsidized vermin from India while around 5 million, fully qualified and desperate US hi-tech workers are unemployed. This is so bad, so troublesome, that I honestly think it is the last straw that makes *any* elected official, any federal worker, disqualified for their their job. If for no other reason, this justifies impeaching Obama, throwing this cockroach out of office, out of the country or in prison. The H1-B and L-1 visas, the avalanche of those new guest worker visas for nurses, *ANY* guest worker visa is out and treason.

absolutely, when will voters vote for those that work for them and not a foreign power...
we should have all the jobs we need and we don't...
and as far as the eye can see, politicians are to blame...
when india thinks coca cola is taking advantage, they develop their own cola and kick coca cola out...
I could care less about the bottom line, full employment keeps America healthy and growing...
put America first...
