Gonzaga-DeMatha postponed
Friday's WCAC semifinal between Gonzaga and DeMatha has been postponed to Saturday at 2 p.m. The site will shift from the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex to McNamara.
That's not a typo. Gonzaga will play DeMatha at McNamara because they want to play on an artificial turf field. You might say that Gonzaga has a turf field, why not play there? Someone will likely tell you that that's why they play a regular season, so a conference champion doesn't open the playoffs on the road (nevermind that DeMatha doesn't exactly have a home field).
Besides, DeMatha's pretty comfortable at McNamara. The Stags are 2-0 there this season, having defeated the Mustangs there last Saturday, and also beaten Riverdale Baptist on that field in their season-opener.
