Maret hosts McAdams Invitational on Monday

Maret will host the Butch McAdams Invitational on Monday, a two-game showcase to honor its former basketball coach. Since McAdams hosts a popular talk radio show in Baltimore, the games match Washington-area teams against opponents from the Charm City.

At 12:30, fifth-ranked Good Counsel plays one of The Sun’s top-ranked teams, Mount St. Joseph. That will be followed by Maret against Park School.

Also, Maret wide receiver Walter Simmons has committed to play football for Cornell, Frogs Coach Mike Engelberg said. The 5-foot-9, 185-pound senior has received his early acceptance letter from the Big Red. Engelberg said that junior wide receiver Ryan Simpson, who is 6-4 and 195 pounds, recently received his first scholarship offer, from Towson.
