Forestville Standout Won't Play This Week
Forestville wide receiver-defensive back Antonio Belt, one of the players on the bubble of this week’s Inseason All-Met team, will not play Friday against Riverdale Baptist and could be out longer because of a knee injury.
Forestville Coach Charles Harley said an emergency medical technician working the Knights’ loss on Saturday to Potomac (Md.) diagnosed Belt with a dislocated right kneecap. Belt saw a doctor on Tuesday, though, and was told he has a sprained knee, Harley said.
“Sometimes they pop back in place, just like a shoulder,” Harley said. “He’s definitely not playing this week.”
Belt intercepted a pass, returned a kickoff for a touchdown, made five tackles and caught four passes for 92 yards and a touchdown. He was injured on the touchdown catch, when he landed awkwardly and his knee buckled, Harley said.
Forestille is idle next week. (More on that this afternoon.)
