Madison Claims Liberty Golf Title

Madison senior Joe Moloney shot a 3-under par 67-72 – 139 to win the Virginia AAA Liberty District tournament and lead the Warhawks to the team championship last week at Herndon Centennial.

Sam Walsh shot 72-72 – 144 to finish second and help Langley to a second-place team finish. Madison and Langley advanced to the Northern Region tournament at Fairfax National on Oct. 6-7.

Al Hubbard of Madison finished third with a 146, while Tommy Curley and Chris Wendel shot 153 and 160, respectively, for the Warhawks, who ended Langley’s three-year run as district champions.
