Simmons to Choose Between Rutgers, Boston College and Vanderbilt

Just got to South County for the Annandale game that I blogged about earlier and Coach Pete Bendorf tells me that his star recruit Andre Simmons will choose between Boston College, Rutgers and Vanderbilt tomorrow at 2:15 p.m. at South County.

Simmons, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound speedy defensive back, earned preseason All-Met status this fall as he entered the season as one of the area's top recruits, with eight division one offers from programs like Rutgers, Boston College, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Virginia, Maryland and West Virginia.

"I'm sworn to secrecy," Bendorf said when I pressed him for the inside scoop on Simmons' choice. "He wants to do it in front of his teammates."

The decision will be made in front of a live audience tomorrow at South County in Lorton in conference room E102. It's open to the public, Bendorf said.
