Towns Leads Lake Braddock to Patriot Golf Title
Lake Braddock junior Kenny Towns shot 1-over par 71-74 -- 145 to win the individual title and lead the Bruins to the team championship in the Virginia AAA Patriot District golf tournament on Wednesday at Twin Lakes.
West Springfield sophomore Matt Spooner finished second with a 76-74 -- 150 and Spartans junior Bobby Bradshaw was third at 77-74 -- 151, helping their team to a second-place finish.
Lake Braddock had a team score of 608, 21 strokes better than West Springfield's 629. Both teams advanced to the Northern Region tournanment Oct. 6-7 at Fairfax National.
