Chantilly Golfer Leads Northern Region Tournament
Chantilly’s Ji Soo Park shot a 2-under par 70 on Tuesday to take a one-stroke lead into Wednesday’s second and final round of the Virginia AAA Northern Region golf tournament at Fairfax National.
Alex Hubbard of Madison was one stroke back at 71, the only other player to break par on Tuesday. The Warhawks have the team lead at 300, nine strokes ahead of Westfield, with the top two teams advancing to the state tournament next week. Lake Braddock was third at 315, one stroke ahead of South County and Langley.
On the individual leader board, Westfield’s Wes Liu shot 72 on Tuesday, followed by Norri Hyun of Centreville at 73 and Langley’s Sam Walsh at 74. Tied at 75 were Chris Wendel of Madison, Amanda Steinhagen of Oakton and Lake Braddock teammates Kenny Towns and Sam Kim.
I'm heading out to Centreville now to catch the end of the tournament.
