Lister, Loudoun Valley Win Regional Golf Titles


Battlefield junior Andrew Lister shot a 1-under par 71 on Thursday to win the Virginia AAA Northwestern Region title for the second year in a row at the Piedmont Club in Haymarket.

Loudoun Valley senior Zack Bosse shot 76 and won a playoff for second place, leading the Vikings to the team title with a score of 315, four strokes better than Battlefield.

Senior Brian Hickey carded a 78 for Loudoun Valley, while juniors Scott Davidson and Tanner Welsh and senior Colin Wallace all shot 80.

Loudoun Valley and Battlefield advanced to the Virginia AAA tournament – along with Northern Region qualifiers Westfield and Madison – to be held Oct. 19-20 at Waterfront Country Club in Moneta.
