Westfield retiring Royal's number tonight
At halftime Friday night of its home game against Chantilly, Westfield will retire the number (5) of former receiver Eddie Royal, who will be on hand for the event.

Royal was the All-Met offensive player of the year in 2003 when Westfield went unbeaten and won the Virginia AAA Division 6 championship. Royal played two years at Westfield after transferring from Paul VI Catholic.
Royal went on to play at Virginia Tech and currently is with the Denver Broncos, who are on a bye this week, freeing up Royal to be on hand for the ceremony. In a win over San Diego on Monday night, he became the 11th player in NFL history to return a punt and a kickoff for a touchdown in the same game. Royal returned five kicks for touchdowns his senior year at Westfield.
Westfield is 3-4 after wins over Oakton and Robinson the past two weeks. Chantilly is 4-3. Chantilly has never beaten Westfield during the regular season but did knock the Bulldogs out of the playoffs in 2006 and last season.
