A look inside The Player's Lounge: T.C. Williams' Ryan Yates and Billy Rowland
""
In this week's edition of The Player's Lounge, Post reporter B.J. Koubaroulis talks with T.C. Williams boys basketball players Ryan Yates and Billy Rowland.
Yates, who won a state championship in his sophomore season, has emerged as a leader on a team that lost its home-opener to Hayfield.
Yates talks about regrouping after the loss, but also about how this season's team is different than past Titan squads. A program that has won the last three Virginia AAA Northern Region titles, No. 10 T.C. Williams entered the season with one of the area's longest conference winning streaks (71 consecutive games).
Rowland enters his second year at T.C. Williams after making three transfers.
The Player's Lounge is a segment on The Fairfax Sports Report -- a weekly television show that broadcasts on Cox, Comcast and Verizon FIOS and features some of the area's top preps reporters, including B.J. Koubaroulis of The Washington Post, Paul Frommelt of The Fairfax Times, Phil Murphy of DigitalSports.com and host and producer Monika Moore. The show airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m., Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Friday's at 2 a.m. on Channel 10.
