Former Heritage RB signs with Toledo
With all the hullabaloo surrounding signing day, top prep school products sometimes get lost in the shuffle behind the big name high school recruits. One such athlete who took a year to bolster his potential at the collegiate level is Ross Madison.
A star running back at Heritage, Madison graduated from the Leesburg school in 2009 and spent the last year at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va. This week he signed a National Letter of Intent to play for coach Tim Beckman and the University of Toldeo.
Despite missing the final three games of his senior season, Madison led the Pride with 961 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on 145 carries. The 6-foot, 192-pound back also returned kicks and played in the defensive backfield for former Pride coach Wes Driskill.
The Rockets finished 5-7 in 2009. Check out video highlights from Madison's high school career here.
