Even before Barack Obama was elected President, finding a hotel room in Washington at a reasonable rate on Inauguration Day wasn’t easy. Just ask the Army men’s basketball team. The Black Knights were scheduled to play at American on Jan. 21, the day following Inauguration. Before the season started, and long before the election, they tried to find hotel rooms for Jan. 20 in the D.C. area. It quickly became apparent that they would have to spend a substantial portion of their athletic department budget just for their accommodations. After discussions with American and the Patriot League office, the teams decided to switch the game to Feb. 4. The impact on the Eagles’ schedule should be minimal. They will play three consecutive road games at the end of January, but they’ll have a week off between the Colgate and Holy Cross games.
