Leading-scorer Eugene Myatt might not play in Howard’s game against North Carolina A&T on Saturday because of a back injury, leaving the Bison with just eight players on their roster. Myatt, who is averaging 14.2 points per game, injured his back in the Bison’s 78-56 loss to Morgan State on Jan. 24. He sat out the second-half of that game and missed Monday’s game against Coppin State.

Howard (3-16, 1-5 MEAC) has been hit hard by injuries, illness and academic suspensions this season. Randy Hampton, who has been limited by a foot injury, sat out the Morgan State game with the flu. Hampton played 13 minutes against Coppin State, scoring seven points.

With sophomore Adam Walker and freshmen guards Chris McHenry and Calvin Thompson sidelined by academic issues, Howard was forced to add two walk-ons to its roster. Junior guard C.J. Prince, a former non-scholarship player at Maryland-Eastern Shore, has played in six games for the Bison and started in Myatt’s place against Coppin State. Prince scored 16 points, making four three-pointers in the loss. Junior guard Yannick Braimbridge has appeared in six games
