Press Break The Post's Rundown of Local and National College Basketball
Bracketized - January 14, 2009

Each week in this space, Press Break will run a bracket-style tournament with user voting determining who advances and ultimately "wins."

This week's Bracketized question -- Who is the area's top freshman? -- seemed somewhat of a foregone conclusion. But that, as they say, is why they play the games. A first-round upset knocked prohibitive favorite Greg Monroe from the field (um, all due respect, folks, but what were you thinking?). Wednesday is quarterfinal voting (the featured one is below, with the other three on the jump), with the semis Thursday and the final Friday through the weekend. We'll run the winner in Sunday's paper.

You ask what they were thinking? They were thinking we are sick of hearing about all the so-called big name schools constantly and the media hyping them even when they suck. As your other article showed the other teams actually outperform them on a regular basis yet they get stuck buried somewhere in the middle of all the news because they are not in the ACC or Big East. If you wanted a legit poll you should make it so people cannot cheat...

What are they thinking? That this blog is a waste of time. I can't navigate it, and it's all Maryland, all the time.
