Press Break The Post's Rundown of Local and National College Basketball
Bracketized - January 17, 2009

Each week in this space, Press Break will run a bracket-style tournament with user voting determining who advances and ultimately "wins."

Last week, Bradford Burgess continued VCU's domination of our polls by being named the area's top freshman. This week's question asks Bracketized readers: What is college basketball's best rivalry? The featured pairing is below, with the other seven on the jump. We'll run first-round voting through Tuesday, with quarterfinals Wednesday, semis Thursday and the final Friday through Saturday evening. We'll run the winner in Sunday's paper.

Are you Serious? Try doing some research and stop making things up. VCU vs GMU? A rivalry? If you would have been at the VCU vs ODU game this weekend you would not need this poll. VCU vs ODU is one of the oldest, most heated, and intense rivalry in this state. This rivalry has even spanned various conferences over the years.

VCU has two rivals. ODU and University of Richmond (GMU is a distant 3rd, similar to Drexel). George Mason's primary rival is James Madison.
