The Patriot League announced that American senior guard Garrison Carr is the conference player of the week, making it the sixth time this season that a player from the D.C. area has won the award. This is Carr's second honor this season and fifth of his career. Carr averaged 21.5 points per game in American's two wins this past week. He also ranks in the top 20 in Division I in three-pointers made this season with 44.
In addition to Carr, Navy's Kaleo Kina has won the award three times and Navy's Chris Harris has been honored once. The Patriot POW has gone to a player outside the DC area only twice: Lehigh's Zahir Carrington won it the first week and Bucknell's Patrick Behan ended Kina's streak of three straight wins on Dec. 22.
