Some of you may have seen Virginia Tech Coach Seth Greenberg and swingman A.D. Vassallo exchanging words on the bench late in the second half of the Hokies' 86-82 loss to Clemson on Thursday, a game in which Virginia Tech lost a 15-point lead.

It did not seem to be a big deal -- Vassallo returned to the game during the next stoppage of play -- but it apparently received discussion on television so I asked Greenberg about it this morning. Greenberg said the disagreement regarded defensive assignments. He attributed the discord to Vassallo being an "emotional player", which can be confirmed by anyone who has watched the senior during his time in Blacksburg.

"I don't condone what transpired," Greenberg said. "But part of it is that's his personality, that's what makes him good. I don't appreciate it, nor am I happy about it."
