Jan. 6, 5:30: Didn’t take me long to find an oversight on my most surprising list. I’ve got to put Dayton on there. The Flyers won 23 games last season, but missed the NCAAs because they faded down the stretch. I expected them to take at least a small step back after losing Brian Roberts. But Coach Brian Gregory’s team is an NCAA tournament team right now. The Flyers are 13-1 and beat Marquette by 14 points. They also beat George Mason, for what it’s worth.

It's worth a lot, Eric, to note Dayton's win over GMU, who led for 37 minutes. Dayton is DEEP and very tough at home. It was a terrific college basketball game, but Mason is a team that should be getting some attention, especially since they are getting it done with 3 freshman getting big minutes! Joe Lunardi and his bracketology BS over at ESPN picks Hofstra because of their record against NOBODY, before they go and get spanked by Drexel and Northeastern. Show you know something! Watch some games!!! And then you can actually update Press Break more often...
