Senior guard Kaleo Kina was selected the Patriot League player of the week for the fourth time this season, tying the league record for most times winning the award by an individual player in a single season. He joins Michael Heary as the only other Midshipman to win the award four times in a season. Kina helped Navy win its first league opener since the 2000-01 season by scoring 25 points in the Midshipmen's 71-67 win against Bucknell. It was his eighth 20-point game this season.
