With all 16 Big East teams invited to the conference tournament for the first time this season, there will be more games that TV can accommodate. So the league plans to make the first-round games available on the Internet, at

The second-round, quarterfinal, semifinal and final rounds will be televised live on ESPN and available online at

The men’s tournament is scheduled for March 10-14 at New York’s Madison Square Garden, with the top four seeds getting byes to the quarterfinals. Based on current standings, they are Connecticut, Louisville, Pittsburgh and Marquette.

Seeds No. 5 through 8 get byes to the second round and open play on Wednesday.
The bottom eight seeds will face off in four first-round games on Tuesday, with the pairings as follows:

The No. 9 seed against the No. 16 seed; the No. 12 seed against the No. 13 seed; the No. 10 seed against the No. 15 seed; and the No. 11 seed against the No. 14 seed.

Tuesday’s winners will face the No. 5-8 seeds in the second round. Those winners will advance to Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Based on current standings, Georgetown is the 12th seed and would face St. John’s, the 13th seed, in a first-round game on March 10. The Hoyas would have to win five consecutive games to win the tournament.
