With its 71-59 win against Towson on Saturday night, George Mason wrapped up the No. 2 seed in the Colonial Athletic Association tournament which begins Friday at the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond. The Patriots (20-9, 13-5 CAA), the defending tournament champions, have a first-round bye and won’t play until Saturday at 6 p.m. against the winner of the first-round game between James Madison and William and Mary. Mason split its series with James Madison, winning at home, 71-57, and losing in Harrisonburg, Va., 68-66. The Patriots won their only meeting with William & Mary, 61-57. The semifinals are Sunday and the championship game is Monday.
