ESPN has announced the pairings for next season's ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
Virginia will open the event with a game against Penn State at John Paul Jones Arena on Monday, Nov. 30. The Nittany Lions won their first National Invitation Tournament title this past season, finishing with a 27-11 record.
On Dec. 1, Maryland will travel to Indiana and Virginia Tech will play at Iowa.
The Hoosiers, who are in the midst of a massive rebuilding process under Coach Tom Crean, finished 6-25 last season. Five of Indiana's top six scorers last season were freshmen.
The Hawkeyes finished 15-17 last season and lost 13 of their last 17 games, missing the postseason for the third straight season. Four players, including leading scorer Jake Kelly and third-leading scorer Jeff Peterson, have left the program since the season ended, and Iowa currently has only seven returning players plus two recruits.
The Hawkeyes and Virginia Tech also met in the 2006 Big Ten/ACC Challenge, with the Hokies earning a 69-65 victory in Blacksburg, Va.
