Notre Dame junior Luke Harangody will announce his future plans today at a 4:15 p.m. news conference. Harangody, a 6-foot-8, 255-pound forward, is weighing whether to declare for the NBA draft or return to the Fighting Irish for his senior season. Coach Mike Brey is pushing Harangody to declare for the draft but not hire an agent. Harangody led the Big East in scoring and was second in rebounding in each of the past two seasons.

Syracuse point guard Jonny Flynn talks about his decision to spurn the Orange for the NBA. Flynn signed with agent Leon Rose, who also represents LeBron James, and there are plenty of Orange Nation denizens who think James was the one who persuaded Flynn to go pro.

In light of Isiah Thomas going "from the Bad Boys to a bad job," ESPN.com's Pat Forde takes a look at formerly big-time coaches who have taken small-time jobs in recent years. Meanwhile, ESPN.com's Andy Katz says Thomas's hiring by Florida International is all part of a movement by the Sun Belt to make itself into a more prominent conference.

Stories are still leaking out about just how bad a fit Billy Gillispie was at Kentucky. Today's installment: Nike-made T-shirts commemorating the 54-point performance by Kentucky's Jodie Meeks on Jan. 13 sat boxed up for three months. Kentucky's players finally are wearing them, now that Gillispie has been fired. Asked why it took so long, a Nike rep said, "You'd have to ask Billy Gillispie about that."

The mood is solemn within the North Carolina State women's program, which seems ready to sever ties to the Kay Yow era by hiring Western Kentucky's Kellie Harper instead of Stephanie Glance, Yow's longtime assistant and the team's interim coach after Yow passed away. Yow, along with many others, wanted Glance to succeed her.

actually Kellie Harper was the head coach at Western Carolina University not Western Kentucky
