Cashing In On Clunkers

Michael and I have seen tons of them on the road: Clunker after clunker. The one above was driving past a church in Clarksdale, Mississippi.

Late last month, President Barack Obama signed the so-called "cash for clunkers" legislation, which aims to get drivers to dump their old gas guzzlers for newer, more fuel-efficient vehicles. The law allows drivers of vehicles made in 1984 or earlier to qualify for as much as $4,500 toward a new car.
