Post photographer Michael Williamson is traveling across the country covering the economic situation.

Thanks For Not Saying, "Are We There Yet?"

“You probably know this,” read the last line in a short, kind email I received the other day, “but there are a whole lot of us in the back seat, traveling with you.”

Michael and I are very aware that we aren't riding along "Recession Road" alone. With only about a month left before the summer ends and our trip along with it, we are constantly thinking about what we’ve shown you and what we still need to show you, constantly discussing how best to bring you into the moment with us.

So, as we plan to make our way through several Mountain States and the Midwest in the next few weeks, we wonder if there are any thoughts from the backseat. Any suggestions for recession-related stories we might find in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, the Dakotas, Nebraska or Kansas (although we probably won’t make it through all of those states)? Any people we should meet? Any sights we should see?

If so, please leave a comment or email me.

Otherwise, we’ll see you in Colorado on Monday.
