From the Big Apple to the Little Apple
Guard Ray Brewer, an All-Met guard in 2004-05 at Eleanor Roosevelt who spent last season at Patterson (N.C.) Prep, will enroll at Kansas State this fall, the Kansas City Star reports.
Brewer committed to Manhattan over the winter, but did not follow through with the Jaspers after Coach Bobby Gonzalez left for Seton Hall this spring.
While Kansas State has been off the beaten path for Washington-area players, that trend will change. One-time D.C.-area player Dalonte Hill -- who coached Brewer on the D.C. Assault travel team -- is an assistant under Bob Huggins and the Wildcats have a verbal commitment from another 2004-05 All-Met, forward Mike Beasley.
