Some Friendly Notes...
Friendly football coach George Earley says that cornerback Cornelius Ward has committed to Miami of Ohio and lineman Lawrence Brewer will pick between Akron and Buffalo. Both players, along with standout quarterback Joe Haden -- a Florida recruit -- plan to graduate after the first semester and enroll in college.
I'm curious what everyone thinks about the growing popularity of graduating early to participate in spring practice. Rarely does it allow a player a chance to make an impact as a freshman. More often than not, these players will redshirt as freshmen. Colleges are happy because they get the player for a few extra practice sessions, but is that worth messing with the regular scholastic cycle?
